We’re proud of the path we’ve taken to reach our environmental sustainability and compatibility standards. Sustainability is an integral part of everything we do , and one of our main goals is to continue to reduce our environmental impact. Employees, local communities and the environment play a fundamental role in our business: we are committed to guaranteeing the health and safety of current and future generations. We believe that companies, no matter how large or small, must create sustainable best practices and manage resources efficiently.
Elleduesse strives to ensure that, through our products, both we and our customers can continue to minimise our impact on the world we live in.
Sustainability initiatives are deeply rooted in our corporate strategy, instilled in the values of our team and put into practice internally (through the actions of our employees, state-of-the-art machinery, and energy saving policies) and externally (through the products and services we provide to our customers).
Since 1984, we have sent scraps from the production of bonded leather heel counters back to our supplier, who reuses them for the production of new bonded leather for other industries, preventing waste from ending up in landfills and saving new resources. We provide our suppliers with an average of 40,000 kg of scraps per year, for a total of 1,440 tonnes as of 2020.
One of our goals is to become a zero-impact company as soon as possible. We are working with an important partner to find the best way to fully recycle even the waste produced by the insole department, which consists of different types of materials.
We also ask our clients to return the non-biodegradable packaging from heel counters to us so that it can be reused, thereby further reducing further waste.
We’ve installed solar panels on the entire surface of the company building to produce clean energy from a renewable source.
We are developing an environmentally-friendly adhesive for the creation of a 100% biodegradable and innovative insole.
